How Local Public Health is Tackling the Opioid Crisis

Join the Public Health Foundation (PHF) and the Bio-Defense Network on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 12- 1 CST (1-2pm ET) for a webinar, How Local Public Health is Tackling the Opioid Crisis.

The webinar will include presentations from three local health departments who are addressing the opioid crisis in their communities. Maria Wood from Seattle-King County (WA) and Jefferson Katchel of Snohomish Health District (WA) will discuss their pharmaceutical stewardship programs in the Pacific Northwest, and Debra Buckner from Marion County Public Health Department (IN) will discuss substance use outreach services.
In addition, PHF Senior Quality Advisor Jack Moran will discuss the draft opioid population health driver diagram, recently created with the help of a group of experts, health department officials, and foundations at the Practical Playbook meeting. PHF haspreviously used this framework to bring together community partners, align public health and healthcare, and address topics such as antibiotic stewardship and diabetes prevention and control.
